HAGON TWIN SHOCKS are based on a common damping body, available in BLACK PAINTED (Hagon "ROAD SHOCKS" Type A) or either POLISHED STAINLESS or CHROME PLATED (Hagon "CUSTOM SHOCKS" Type P) conditions- Hagons are phasing out CHROME CUSTOM shock bodies and replacing them with polished STAINLESS STEEL bodies. We will make the changeover as STAINLESS STEEL CUSTOM SHOCKS become available. Call for up-to-date information.

Damping bodies feature double sealed Nitrogen cells, automatic compression and rebound damping control and hard chrome piston rod.

Shock bodies are available in Soft, Medium, Hard and Extra Hard damping levels; Hagons' spec for your bike will tell us the length and damping level that your bike needs, and the mounting bushings that will need to be fitted. It is useful if you measure your current shocks' length and bush sizes before you order so we can reconfirm your specs.

Fork bottom shocks are manufactured for Hondas in 310, 335 and 360mm lengths, and for Suzukis in 330mm only. Sorry, fork bottom shocks are not available in custom lengths.

An alloy adjuster ring is fitted on to the body, which rotates to provide three levels of spring preload (adjusting wrench is provided with the shocks). The Mylar HAGON labels easily peel off the adjuster ring, and you can polish the rings if a chrome-like look is desired, or paint them black to resemble OEM Girling units.

Hagon Twin Road shocks are available from our stocks in lengths from 280mm to 350mm in 10 mm increments, plus special applications like the 370mm shocks for PC800s. Hagons' spec for your bike will specify the length you need. The chart below shows the range of motion for most lengths of twin shocks.

If you want to LOWER the bike, we can usually build the spec onto a shorter shock body, at no extra charge. The fully compressed length is critical- you need to determine the clearance issues between back wheel and fender.

If you want to do some experimenting by substituting for the current shocks two blocks of wood or pieces of pipe cut to the compressed length, you will gain a sense of what will work and what won't.

Type A Road shocks, Type P Custom shocks and Type 2810 adjustable shocks have 4 way progressively wound springs, rated at the median of the windings:

SOFT BODY SHOCKS:

16kg=90lb progressive

MEDIUM BODY SHOCKS:
18kg=100lb progressive
20kg=110lb progressive

HEAVY BODY SHOCKS:

We can supply springs in 194, 214 and 234mm in two shapes:

Slimline with 38.5mmID and 52.5mm (2.125" ) OD
Wideline barrel shaped with 39mm ID and tapered OD 53.5-60mm (2.35")

Twin shock stock fluctuates daily, not all styles of spring may be in stock to suit your particular application, but just about anything can be special ordered at no extra charge.


WHAT DO YOU WANT YOUR SHOCKS TO LOOK LIKE?

We can build Hagons' Twin Shocks in BLACK or CUSTOM (chrome or polished Stainless) BODIES in a variety of styles.
PLEASE NOTE: GIRLING springs and shrouds WILL NOT FIT Hagon Twin Shocks.

SPRINGS are available in two diameters:
SLIMLINE SPRINGS are 2.125" diameter in in BLACK or CHROME
WIDELINE SPRINGS are 2.4" diameter in CHROME (A few WIDELINE springs are now available in BLACK-CALL for details)
SLIMLINE and WIDELINE SPRINGS have the same rating and performance, the difference is cosmetic only.

HALF SHROUDS are POLISHED STAINLESS STEEL, to fit over SLIMLINE or WIDELINE springs- $52.00 a pair.

FULL SHROUDS:

SLIMLINE STAINLESS STEEL FULL SHROUD SETS -Black painted uppers and polished lowers $95 a set of four pieces
OR
"FAT BOY" STAINLESS STEEL SHROUD SETS - polished uppers and lowers, also $95 a set of four pieces.

SLIM LINE FULL SHROUD SETS are available in CHROME PLATED MILD STEEL UPPERS AND LOWERS ($65 for a set of 4 pieces) ONLY until stocks run out- we will then supply them in polished stainless steel.

WHY CAN'T I ORDER ONLINE?

We are reluctant to sell shocks here on the web site because we refuse to sell 'one-size-fits-all' shocks. We find that there are enough variations in model specs. and rider conditions that it it necessary to have direct contact with the end user. Shocks are not returnable once fitted to your bike, so in order to ensure that Hagons specification will fit both your bike and your loading conditions, we need some information from you about your bike, your weight and your riding habits.

We'll need you to specify:
--the year, make and model of the bike
--the rider's weight
--if you carry a passenger? passenger weight? % of time you ride two up?
--whether a fairing, saddlebags or a top case are fitted, and how much weight you carry in each
--your anticipated MAXIMUM LOADING in pounds
--how the bike is used, i.e highway, backroads, off road, track days, race etc

Because we stock Twin shock lengths from 290 mm to 420mm in soft, medium and hard damping and have a variety of progressive springs available in each length, we can easily build twin shock specials and specs not listed in Hagon's applications charts. If you don't see your bike listed, CALL!
